Gammel D. Bates III - “Trey”  was born in Wilkesboro in 1969 and grew up in Winston‑Salem before attending East Carolina University in the early ’90s. After years of working across the country, he returned to school and earned his Associate Degree in Advertising & Graphic Design from Central Piedmont Community College in 2014. Trey’s career has taken him from North Carolina to major apparel hubs nationwide and eventually to Thailand, where he spent eight years in art direction, production management, and global sourcing. He is also an active adaptive sports athlete and advocate, bringing resilience, creativity, and community focus into everything he does. Today, Trey blends global experience with local roots as he continues building a life and business in Wilkes County.
